Spring Training

Monday March 12 - Friday March 16 2012, 9am-4pm

Cost: $350+hst = $395.50

Spend March Break getting ready for show season! This high intensity training program is open to only six riders -- so register soon! Riders must be able to walk, trot, canter and jump a 2' course to participate (if you're not sure, check with your instructor). Adults welcome!

While focused on competitive skills, any dedicated rider is welcome to participate!

Jump lessons will be in groups of like abilities and run an hour. Dressage lessons are half-hour privates. Each day will also have a classroom component that will help you to prepare for show season or to develop your riding goals.

Riders are encouraged to observe each other's lessons; bring your camera and get another student to film your rides!

Tentative Schedule:

Monday
Morning - Lunge lesson - focus on position and seat
Afternoon - Pole work - focus on position and accuracy
Knowledge - Goal setting

Tuesday
Morning - Dressage - test movements
Afternoon - Jumping - gymnastics
Knowledge - Riding and memorizing dressage tests

Wednesday
Morning - Dressage - practice test (riders will get test with comments)
Afternoon - Jumping - related distances
Knowledge - Creating a training plan

Thursday
Morning - Dressage - focus on areas needing improvement from test ride on Wednesday
Afternoon - Jumping - courses
Knowledge - Walking and riding a show jump course

Friday
Morning - show prep - grooming, braiding, planning, etc
Afternoon - mini-show - parents and friends welcome to come cheer!
Knowledge - preparing for a show and show day

Summer Competition Camp

Similar to the Spring Training schedule but mid-season for an intensive tune-up or preparing to upgrade to the next level. Will be the first two weeks of August and include cross-country. More information coming soon!
